I'm not the only one who noticed how McCain't answer the questions!
Linda Bergthold: Leaks in McCain's Cone of Silence?

I must admit that listening to McCain answer Pastor Rick Warren's questions so quickly and glibly Saturday night at the Saddleback Faith Forum made me wonder if he somehow knew them in advance. He was so confident, so concise.
It was clear that McCain't knew in advance more than a few questions. It was clear he knew them all...

The difference is that Obama smears are blatant lies, most of which are minutia issues. Yes, there is a big difference when a professional team of smear artists have been hired by the Republican Party to keep up a steady supply of BS and chain e-mail true believer hardcore GOP right wingers to get as much exposure as possible.

Was McCain in a cone of silence or not? That is a FACTUAL question. It seems this claim has been substantiated.

Was there any advantage to McCain? I don't know for sure.

I can't say that I am fixated on the issue, as it is small in comparison with the general issue, this was a Republican ambush. Attack of the old Republican white men and an almost all white, large majority of males rally.

My same old, same old Republian issue about only running elderly white men for president or vice president.

I suppose that's exciting for White Nationalists, but for he rest of us it looks extremely unbalanced. How about a similar debate set up by Democrats specifically focusing on the more nature gender and racial balance found across most of America?

Watch Warren Lie His Butt Off!

YouTube - McCain @ Saddleback Church???

When asked directly about Warren's claims that McCain was in a Cone of Silence, Warren obfuscated and equivocated. He's a right wing whore....like the rest of the pederast priests who back morons like Bush....

I think there was. First there is the matter of appearance. While most of those questions asked by Warren were a waste of time, in my opinion, they were still tough questions to some degree. To have had extra time to formulate an answer, no matter of smarmy the answer was, would be an advantage for it would give the false appearance of competence. Second, by knowing the questions ahead of time "faux pas" bombs could be avoided. To say that another way, one could avoid saying something incredibly stupid which is something McCain't is known for doing.

True, it is just one of many types of approches that the up coming election will be "fixed." But I find it a better approach to take on those "fixes" one at a time rather than wait until it's too late and try and make the case in "batch."

Just remember, with these types of "fixes" Bush got elected. Which is to say that something is profoundly wrong with the process....

I must add I liked the format if it was not screwed up it would be nice to have a policy debate with the rules of this one actually enforced.

McCain was at least very stupid to leave room for this argument to occur.

That doesn't even make sense.

McCain did well in the debate. Going from that to "he cheated" is just a stupid leap of logic. Maybe he did, maybe not, but you have no proof either way.

Good point but I think McCain't didn't feel he had a choice. Had his performance been poor and unprepared he would have taken it in the neck...

Since no one is making such a leap this can be ignored.

Ever hear the one that goes, "if it looks like a duck, if it smells like a duck, if it poops like a duck, well maybe it is a duck?" Based on his previous Q&A interviews, McCain't gave a performance that was "too" well prepared.

One last point, Warren didn't give Obama and McCain't the questions before hand, he gave the themes of a few of the questions. The lie that Warren gave them actual questions just adds onto the crap pile.

Here's an example of the leftist whining about McCain (though one could rightly argue that the McCain camp playing the prisoner of war card was inappropriate): Pensito Review Cheating at Saddleback: McCain Appparently Knew Question About Supreme Court in Advance

The answer to this is really simple: REPUBLICANS know that whenever abortion is being discussed the subject of Supreme Court judges is necessarily part of the discussion. You really can't discuss the abortion issue in Republican circles without discussing Supreme Court judges. So, "getting back" was a misstatement wherein McCain wanted to get back to the abortion issue so that he could talk about Supreme Court justices.

And the reason McCain did so well is that this was a format that works well for him and an audience with which he was relatively comfortable.

"I'm a panda," he says at the door. "Look it up."

The waiter turns to the relevant entry and, sure enough, finds an explanation.

"Panda. Large black-and-white bear-like mammal, native to China. Eats, shoots and leaves."

Nice try but McCain't said: "...are we going to get back to the importance of Supreme Court Justices..." That's a far different issue then whether abortion is a holocaust. And if we follow your logic everything, congress, religion, the White House, the Vatican and the Holy See should have also been mentioned by McCain't and they weren't.

Nonsense, McCain't spends half his time saying crap like "My Friends" in order to stall for time while he formulates his answers.
