*** Better to have lost a few 'nutjobs' along the way then have to listen to the losers whine about the war. |

And that's the problem. Some of the "other 99%" are not getting by, even after cutting all the corners they can cut out of their budgets.

So it's not the gap between rich and poor, it the bottom line and how many fail to meet it.

Most people who are not getting by are not doing so because of the choices they have made in life. They have nobody else to blame.

However, I am unsure if it was the 80's or the 70's when this began. I thought this started under Carter during the gas crunch when we were trying to find alternative sources of fuel. We are doing it again except this time it is causing food shortages around the globe. Crop subsidies only help the wealthy and corporate agri-businesses (corporate welfare). They do nothing for farmers.

Time for the revolution? Nope. Too many people are doing quite well.....or at least not enouigh people aren't, for any sort of actual rebellion to happen.
America has a representative democracy. Revolutions happen where people don't have ANY outlet, or any input at all. Besides, income inequality is a core American value. We've always had the right to be rich, and ideas about re-distribution have historically had zero traction.
