If you look at the facts, you will see that the oil companies have not followed through on drilling for oil on federal lands they have access to. The real truth is that they recognize that the easy to drill and refine oil is gone. What is left will be expensive oil do to the energy needed to drill it and refine it.

So instead of the Republican propaganda being true that Democrats are to blame and all we have to do is drill in Alaska and offshore to help out situation with high priced gasoline is yet another BS propaganda campaign. What oil we see from drilling in these areas is going to be years away, and it will most likely NOT bring the cost of gasoline down.

And I think that is what Boone Pickens sees, the billionaire Texas oil man that is switching to alternative energy. He has bought up land in Texas for the largest wind farm in the US that he will build.

1. there was no oil on most of the land and they will lose the leases.
2. Red Tape once oil is found .. government red tape is delaying..
3. they are being sued by watermelons who were given standing to sue without consequence by Democrats... more delays.. for years
4. no new refineries because of red tape and Watermelon law suits.

Pickens is not against drilling.. Why not do what he says... ALL...Drill, conserve and find alternatives?

When will Democrats stop the embargo on oil.

Bottomline: they need more choices.

Ask any oil company about the red tape and watermelons.. Ask Democrats in Congress they know.. the oil companies are sued and sued and sued.. but that is the purpose to destroy the economy and allow democrats to Nationalize the oil companies..

We should disallow access of these watermelons to the courts unless they pay if they are wrong or file a frivilous lawsuit.

That will stop it.

Democrats are in big trouble and will lose the election and possibly control of the house and senate if they don't do something about this....

IOW, you have jack s*** to back up your allegations. Pickens is realistic about drilling, and that there is no easy to extract and refine crude oil anymore. So we are not talking about substantially reducing the price of gas and oil.

The bottom line is the oil industry needs to use the new technology for below surface imaging and drilling at angle to get all the oil they can out of existing oil fields. I posted an MIT article on this previously. Priority needs to be given to projects such as deep ocean drilling off of the coast of Brazil. This could be the largest oil field ever discovered.

And the bottom line is we need to be developing renewable energy sources as rapidly as possible. Sooner or later, gas and oil are going to price themselves out of the market for public use. We need to force the corn ethanol billionaire agricorps to adopt alternative sources. They have developed a new hybrid corn that breaks down its cellulose in the stalks and leaves to be used for ethanol. Switchgrass is a much more viable option, and can be grown on marginal crop lands and therefore not impinge on food production. All traditional electicity power plants have cooling towers. All that is needed is a retrofit of vortex engines in the cooling towers to boost plant production substantially.

There are many new breakthroughs that are not being jump started and moved rapidly into mass production.

Correct, an assertion without evidence.. Yes.. and democrats can take the assertion and run or not to their folly. We do still have a voting electorate.. At least it is in 2008...

Yes, we must develop ALL alternatives but none of the alternatives are even advanced enough to replace oil?

So why continue to embargo oil? unless the Democrats want to destroy the economy and use it as an argument to nationalize the oil industry?

Are they really ready to advance their socialist tyranny in that direction?
