Crooks and Liars McClellan: White House gave FOX commentators talking points

Matthews: “Did you see FOX television as a tool when you were in the White House? As a useful avenue to get your message out?”

McClellan: “I make a distinction between the journalists and the commentators. Certainly there were commentators and other, pundits at FOX News, that were useful to the White House.” […] That was something we at the White House, yes, were doing, getting them talkng points and making sure they knew where we were coming from.

Matthews: “So you were using these commentators as your spokespeople.”

McClellan: “Well, certainly.”

Straight from the source. Enough with the “fair and balanced” crap already.

Actually their web site lists about ten shows, only about half of which are commentary. If you're going to demonize your enemy it's best not to be ignorant about him.

i think the point is moot. the people in question want to be perceived as journalists, not pundits, it's opinion as fact, which is almost always wrong.

How can anybody credibly insist that Fox is "fair and balanced" after they pulled this McCain anti-aging stunt?

The Raw Story | MSNBC beats on Fox for its 'anti-aging fix' for McCain

Imagine- using a video clip 8 years old (and not hiding that fact):
Quote:
Over a "Beat the Press: Fox Anti-Aging Fix" graphic, Abrams urged, "Take a good look at the senator and the video they use." He then showed a clip in which Fox ran video of a strangely youthful and vigorous-looking McCain at a campaign rally to accompany a story about McCain's current campaign schedule. However, the video also prominently features a sign reading "www.mccain2000.com,"

Oh, come on, SM! If this were about a liberal Democrat, you'd be up in arms about the evidence of bias here! But because it's about McCain, a conservative GOPer, and involves Fox, you're willing to give them a pass.

Not really. I just don't think that the accusation has any weight to it. If FNC wanted to show McCain as younger, then why wouldn't they edit out the parts of the video that show the 2000 signs?

You seriously believe they are that competent? Do you believe I was born yesterday? Why on earth would they use 8 yo tape in the first place instead of something recent?
