Abstinence is a conservative policy only when it is offered to the exclusion of all other types of birth control. It's that "My way or the highway" attitude that makes abstinence a failure...

This is just more evidence of the same.

It isn't so much about the teaching of morality anywhere; these are sick, repressed people we're talking about here. How many Republicans are gay and hiding in the closet for example? Seems like a new on gets outed every week! What they want is for everyone else to be just as uptight and fearful and miserable as they are...and it's NEVER going to happen. So they'll continue to bleat and whine about contraception being abortion--no, I'm not kidding!--about putting their spoiled brat of a God into government and all its manifestations and about more censorship of everything because their sensibilities are so easily offended.

I usually refer to them as fundamentalist flying monkeys and I have ZERO sympathy for them and their Godless intolerance.

The Raw Story | Pelosi calls Bush a 'total failure' who has 'no ideas'

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Thursday called President George W. Bush "a total failure" who "has no ideas," in an interview with CNN.

Another failure by Bush, the businessman. His policy of privatization in Iraq has failed. As it turns out it is more of a policy of cronyism.

But that was not a 'policy' in as much as it was a social factor. Prior to Reagan, there was no 'cristian coalition' and such to try and push public policy. That came during the 80's.

When Bush the elder ran against Reagan, he was pro-choice and pro-marijuana decriminalization.

Albert Einstein dies and goes to heaven and meets St Peter at the gates. "Who are you?" St Peter asks. "I'm Albert Einstein, the foremost scientist of the world" Einstein replies. "Can you prove that?" St Peter asks. Einstein grabs a blackboard and chalk and fills the entire space with scientific formulas. St Peter says "you have proven who you are. You may enter.

Then Picasso dies and goes to heaven and meets St Peter at the gates. "Who are you?" asks St Peter. "I am Picasso, the foremost artist in the world" Picasso answers. "Can you prove that?" St Peter asks. Picasso grabs a canvas, brush's and oil paints and produces a masterpiece. St Peter says "You may enter."

George W Bush arrives at the gates of heaven. St Peter asks "and who are you? I just asked Einstein and Picasso to prove who they were and they proved it for me." George gets a puzzled look on his face and says "who are Einstein and Picasso."

Federal statistics in June showed that 52.9 percent of Texas students in ninth through 12th grades had sexual intercourse, compared with 47.8 nationally. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention also reported that Texas youths are less likely to use condoms.
All that money and effort wasted on another Bush policy that didn't work. His education policy, a failure, His foreign policy in Iraq, North Korea, Russia, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and just about every where else, a failure. His war on terrorism, a failure. His economic policies, a failure. His USSC appointments, a failure. Failure, failure, failure!

The only things Bush does well are take vacations and make up excuses for why he's failed yet another time.

I wonder if all those people who voted for Bush have come to realize just how great a disappointment they are....with Bush's near perfect record of failure, I wonder if they still think that either Gore or Kerry could possibly have been worse? Clarabell the clown couldn't have been worse.
This doesn't prove that abstinence doesn't work and it is damned idiotic of you to suggest that it does. What it shows is that a significant percentage of teens choose not to adhere to what they're being taught. Based on the stupidity expressed in your post, you might as well say that math education doesn't work since a certain percentage of students fail to use the math they're taught.

Oh, and by the way, it was the State of Texas that spent the money. Bush hasn't been Governor of Texas since the end of the 20th century.

But let's take your stupidity further and see where we can go with it.

English education doesn't work because not all students can read at or above grade level and cannot understand the literature they were required to read.

Laws against murder don't work because people still commit murder.

Laws against theft don't work because people still steal.

Laws against rape don't work because people still rape.

Socialism doesn't work because there are still poor people in socialist countries.

I'm sure we can come up with other examples to show how damned stupid it is of you to say something along the lines of "abstinence doesn't work because some people choose not to abstain."

"Why?" asks the confused waiter, as the panda makes toward the exit. The panda produces a badly punctuated wildlife manual and tosses it over his shoulder.

"I'm a panda," he says at the door. "Look it up."

The waiter turns to the relevant entry and, sure enough, finds an explanation.

"Panda. Large black-and-white bear-like mammal, native to China. Eats, shoots and leaves."
