You can't turn on a cable station without some empty suit and a haircut telling you that McCain't is a hero...or that Obama is a Muslim. So I wish you luck...if you really want to be "heard" the first thing is you have to buy your own cable station...good luck with that.

If someone's going to claim the moral high ground, their own behavior had better be beyond reproach...right? Republicans' behavior isn't even close!

I think it's about time for me to pull the covers off some more cheap-labor conservatives and throw 'em under the bus.
From the Anchorage, Daily News: Nearly two years after the FBI raided his office, state Sen. John Cowdery was indicted on conspiracy and bribery charges. The Anchorage Republican is accused of scheming with Veco Corp. executives to buy the vote of another senator in the battle for an oil tax favored by North Slope oil producers. According to the 16-page indictment, Cowdery and others conspired in 2006 to give another senator $25,000, characterized as campaign contributions. The indictment was handed up by a grand jury Wednesday and filed in US District Court on Thursday, July 10th. Bribery and conspiracy...good ol' "Family values!" And here's some particularly disgusting GOPerversion: The former chairman of the Clark County Republican Party pleaded guilty today to criminal deviate conduct as part of an agreement that could result in two years behind bars. Glenn Murphy Jr. was arrested after authorities said he performed oral sex on a sleeping man following a July 28 party at a home in Jeffersonville. The plea agreement calls for a six-year sentence, with four years suspended. Murphy, who was also chairman of the Young Republican National Federation, resigned from both posts when the allegations were made public in August of last year. Pretty gross, huh?

For the uninitiated, Oregon Senator Bob Packwood's political demise began in November 1992, when the Washington Post outlined detailed allegations of sexual misconduct by Packwood. By threatening legal action, Packwood was able to delay publication of the story until after the election, where he won by a razor-thin margin. The National Organization for Women took up the cause of at least 29 women who eventually came forward to allege sexual abuse and assaults, dating back over the years, including one woman who sued him for $5 million, claiming he had attempted to strangle her. The sexual abuse side of Packwood's problems, played up in the public media, obscured charges that he encouraged offers of financial assistance from lobbyists and other persons who had a particular interest in legislation or issues that Senator Packwood could influence. As the situation developed, he was also charged with trying to obstruct the investigation. Obviously a complete dirtbag...but it get's worse! Senator Packwood's diary became a key issue: whether a diary can be subpoenaed, whether Packwood attempted to blackmail his fellow senators with threats concerning the purported content of his diaries, and his blatant excisions from it. Your GOP at work!
