So Finney "butting in" and being full of baloney is now the topic.

I thought responding to the proposals in post #1 was the topic.

This is not a private discussion, no one is butting in, and -my gosh- you have a disagreement. That happens a few trillion times in life.

Respond to the content of replies not the person posting the replies.

Once again, you try to make this thread about ME rather than the shortcomings in your own logic, reasoning and information. If that's what floats your boat, Knuckles, be my guest. But that's a strategy which suggests I've ALREADY won this debate and successfully called your bluff...
Actually, Finny and I both refuted your argument and clarified your reference to Hubbert's incomplete peak calculations. Remember, at the time of his work non-conventional oil sources weren't factored in to the equation. Hubbert accurately projected peak light crude production only.

Furthermore, in refuting your inaccurate statement, I also shot down you non-conventional oil argument before it even got off the ground. While non-conventional oil is dramatically more expensive to obtain and refine, it is being done on a massively commercial basis nonetheless. By our neighbors to the North, even.

Perhaps before you lecture someone about inaccurate information, you should take a piece of your own advice to heart.

You, sir, have won nothing, because you've done nothing.

Did you even read the article? Independent Oil Companies and Refineries want to refine Sour Crude. That Valero, FTO, and Premcor are refining Sour Crude.

Shale is being used in Canada. Germany, Scotland and Estonia have been doing this for years. Shale Oil can be extracted for less then $70 to $90 a barrel. The R&D of it..

Get your facts straight before you start butting in, Fins...
I don't need to read what you wrote, You wrote your opinion, not fact. He only predicted light sweet crude oil that was tapped, if the Offshore and ANWR was tapped we would not have peaked in 1970s.. It was selective figures that allowed him to say that. He didn't figure in untapped sources, Heavy Sour Crude, and Shale.

There are 3 trillion barrels of Shale Oil in the western States alone.. And you want to tell me we hit our peak in the 70s.
