The following video link, is an interview of Mark Stein on the Glen Beck Show. They discuss some quotes from Michelle Obama that until now, I had never heard before. These are actually more concerning to me than the "not proud of my country" quotes everyone has been talking about. They remind me of the Soviet propaganda depicted in movies back in the 70's and 80's.
I am very curious what those of you on the left and those that support Obama, think about what she said. Video Link |

I love the conservative line "the top x% pay xx% of taxes!" because the southern conservative belt (aka the red states) take in more from the federal budget than they pay into it!
(FibD attaches confederate flag to bycicle) Secede! By thunder blue states!!!

I'm really hard-pressed to take anything that Glenn Beck says as the truth.
Redistribution takes place all the time in the United States. It shows you how totally clueless this dink is not to know that already. We have a progressive tax system: the more money you make, the more you pay in taxes. I just love how dimbulbs like Beck throw out the Marxist Boogyman all the time and rightwingers gobble it up because they have forgotten the basic premises in play here in the USA. Michelle Obama is talking about shared sacrifice, something that his ilk knows nothing about. They have been running from that concept for decades. They want it all and if you do not get yours, too frikken bad. If you don't get hired because the company won't hire blacks, too bad. If you cannot get into school to get an education to get a better job because you cannot qualify for the loans or grants, too bad. If you cannot get promoted because the company you work for promotes men before women and then pays them more, too bad. Shared sacrifice for the betterment of this country is not possible when mouthpieces like Beck, Limbaugh, et al, do nothing but sit on their kiesters, collect their millions and tell the rest of us to fight against anyone telling you that sharing is good when we (Beck and his crowd) all know it's bad. Is this is the kind of "issues" the right is going to run on? Good luck with that. |

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Here's one of my favorite quotes. Watch the video of Bush saying how he prefers dictatorship: YouTube - George Bush, dictator "If this were a dictatorship, it would be a heck of a lot easier - just so long I'm the dictator." |

What is all this shared sacrifice crap? It sounds like you are espousing it, along with the redistribution of wealth. Show me where these concepts appear in our country's founding documents. They don't, since they are antithetical to liberty. Any so-called "sacrifice" should be voluntary, not mandated by the state. I couldn't watch the video but if that's what Michelle and her husband believe in, an Obama presidency will only harm our country and continue its decline. To be fair, a McCain or Barr presidency would, too.

I only watched the first part of it before I clicked it off, but it is them "quoting" her. I would like to see the actual clips of her saying it with full context, not just sound bites.

Sounds like another right wing smear job, if you ask me. No doubt Mr. Beck, a well known blowhard, carefully selected a few comments she really may have made, to make it look like she said something completely different.
