The media is a profit driven enterprise. If a story leads to higher viewer numbers and more advertising revenue, it gets on the air ASAP. That's how it works.
Not owning a tin-foil hat myself, I think the right is having a hard time dealing with the loss of what they consider to be their holy birthright of power, and the venom of desperation is starting to flow. The frothing has just begun.

Actually, it is just a story that focuses on a racial comment that Michelle Obama has bee reported as possibly saying. That's all for now. If it is true then we deal with it then. If not, the same.

All these "birthwright" and "venom" and "frothing" comments you have used are just to divert from the simplicity of this topic. Either she said it or she didn't. That's it.

Now if she said it, then that is enough to convince anyone that she pretty much ruined any chance she had at being first lady in the White House.

And the Republican Party is the party of pluralism/tolerance in America? They only run elderly white men for president. Their strongest special interest group are fundamentalist Christians, and they are almost all white and feel they have the one and only true religion.

Oh please, the democrats have never put anyone in the general election besides an elderly white man (depending on your definition of "elderly"). Both parties are a majority white, that is because our country is...a majority white. And the republican party does not feel that "they have the one and only true religion," that is only the fundemental christian, which make up a small % of the country and the republican party.

The fact that Democrats are running an African American and a woman indicates an effort to change. They have had a woman vice presidential nominee. They currently have a woman majority party leader in Congress. They also do not have a good track record on this, and as I have said before don't trust either party. However, the recent efforts toward change needs credit.
