And why are you using the term "free pass" as a descriptor here? That is a buzz word that Michael has coined in many of his posts, and I don't think that you are using it in quite the same context as it was intended to be used. There is no "free pass" for any media.

Reverend Michael Pfleger is Barack Obama's spiritual adviser/friend. That is the way it is, and there is no link that you can divert with to change those facts. And we know about both preachers that Obama has gently denounced and we know that Obama still is a member of the congregation there. He has been for 20 years. You expect him to turn his back on the very church that helped him launch his political career?? I don't think so.

There is nothing worse in my eyes than Reverend Wright. The only thing worse is the fact that you are rationalizing and defending his racism with this thread.

Seriously now, lets get this sad excuse for a thread back on track. I listened to about 5 minutes of the video clip and I've heard many of those snippets before. Yes, they are WAY out of line, but it's that shock value that keeps these commentators and air jockeys employed. Ratings sell air time.

But this is also about the racist remarks said by TWO pastors at Obama's church. They have a moral responsibility to guide their flock down the path of love, tolerance, and unity. Obama's pastors fail in all three categories. Then again, that is the way the church is. Jim Jones had a church in Los Angeles with a good size following. He preached what some would consider "truths". But look what happened in the end. See what it got them? Black or white, red or brown, it doesn't matter. Words are spewed from the pulpit and all those that attend are affected in one way or another. They all learn the extreme ideology that uses hatred, racism, and division to spread the word of God, as well as their "truths". That in itself sustains the racism in the communities and it spreads like a virus throughout our country. Blind loyalty, willing to drink as much Kool-Aid as they are asked...without question.
