I am not sure I follow you here. If hearings were held that impeached Bush and stopped the war, wouldn't that be exactly what the majority of Americans have asked to happen? Not sure on the impeach question, but I have seen polls on stopping the war that favor stopping it.

I thought someone showed here yesterday, that Congressional ratings are low because of republicans who get included in "some" polls. When the wheat is seperated from the chaff however, Democrats shine. Here is one such poll.

By a 2 to 1 margin, those who see little accomplishment in Congress's first nine months blame the inaction on Bush and the GOP more than they do the majority Democrats. Fifty-one percent place primary fault with the president and congressional Republicans, and 25 percent on the Democrats. Among independents, 43 percent blame Republicans, 23 percent Democrats and nearly three in 10 blame both sides equally.

right... electing republicans into power is what got us into the mess we are in now... no thanks... until there is a viable third party, I will vote democratic in order to oust as many of those obstructionist rubber stamping republicans as possible.

Just because the democrats have a slim majority, doesn't mean they control congress... in the senate for instance, they hold 51 seats... it takes 60 votes to get a bill to the floor and 67 to overirde bush's vetoes... is 51 larger than 60 in your world, grim? How about 67? Is 51 larger than 67? Cuz it sure as hell isn't larger in my world... no... the blame for an ineffectual congress falls squarely on the shoulders of the obstructionist republicans... when we vote them out of office in November, and nothing gets done, THEN you can complain...

Do we know what he said yet? Unfortunately for Republicans, they have made an issue of the subject matter in the book, inspired people to buy it, and have helped advertise free for McCellan. I doubt the republicans would want an investigation of this matter leading into the election. I thinks they done shot themselves in the foot and should have stayed mum.
