I am pretty sure Sam Adams is damn proud to be called a Terrorist then be called a Slave.
The colonists were so busy whining about paying taxes, claiming it made them the "most abject sort of slave," they didn't see the irony bomb blow up in their faces, given they owned real slaves whom they treated like crap. In fact, they cheapen the term "slave" when applying to themselves. The colonists were far from slaves. Africans in the North dared to point out the conflict in colonial rhetoric. Do you know what those patriot-wholesome-freedom-lovers did to africans who protested using identical arguments/slogans used by the colonists? They sent the "Sons of LIBERTY" --that good patriot organization-- after them and beat them senseless in the streets.

Sam Adams was an asshole.

Yea. Those colonists. Such slaves. *plays the worlds smallest violin*

How DARE England expect its colonists to defray the costs of defending the British Empire!

Ironically, by the time of the Boston tea party, the chancellor of the exchequer and the minister actually made the tea tax cheaper than it would have cost the colonists to import it from elsewhere through smuggling. They STILL wouldn't pay it! Then the colonists couldn't even keep their arguments consistent. First, they argued the only problem they had was that the taxes were internal, not external. When England switched to external taxes during Townshend's administration, the colonists changed their arguments to something else. The bottom line was they simply didn't want to pay taxes, even reasonable ones they previously said were okay.

They were just whiny, hypocritical inconsistent blowhards. To call themselves slaves is a gross misuse of the term.

And you know who encouraged slavery in America right? That's right the British. As it allowed the British Empire to tax the hell out of White Colonist. But you knew that. You also know that those Founding Fathers regretted not addressing the issue of Slavery in the 13 Colonies at that time. They banned importation of Slaves in 1807 and they knew they didn't go far enough. They also barred Slavery in Western areas in 1787.

Your issue is you see the term as Slavery as just meaning owning Africans. Wage slavery was what the British Government was committing. Look it up..

The British Empire would used both Africans and Colonist to further their goals.

Yep, and it's no different then what your Comrades have done as well to those who opposed "change".

And you are entitled to your opinion. If we were still under British rule, it'd be a different matter.

How dare thousands of African-Americans (both free and slave) enlist in the Continental Army. As they were colonist too. As the word colonist comes from the word Colony.. Colonist is one who lives in a Colony.

How dare they expect a vote. How dare they expect Representation over matter that effected them. If we were still under British Rule to this day.. You would not get a vote or Representation as it took the English over 800 years to recognize these rights in Ireland, which is right next door to them.

God damn me or any other American for taking the pleasure of Voting and making sure we have Representation in Washington. God damn me and other Americans for cutting off the Middle Passage, and closing the biggest hub of Slave trade in the Colonies, which was New York City.

That's still Taxation without Representation. As English law of 1689 had forbidden the imposition of taxes without the consent of Parliament, and since the Colonist didn't have Representation in Parliament it violated the laws they were told they lived under.

Even PM John Major used this phrase to slight America and its role in the UN. Forgetting to gather, the US provides the UN with property.

So when Socialist define Capitalist as Slave owners is that a misuse of the word? Slavery is a broadly defined word.

From Wage Slavery to Chattel Slavery.
