Yes, they even said that on CNN. They even had a blurb of Rove on FAUX News attacking him personally...

I think this quote applies well to this thread:

Quote:
Well, why, all of a sudden, if he had all these grave concerns, did he not raise these sooner? This is one-and-a-half years after he left the administration. And now, all of a sudden, he’s raising these grave concerns that he claims he had. And I think you have to look at some of the facts. One, he is bringing this up in the heat of a presidential campaign. He has written a book and he certainly wants to go out there and promote that book.
Don't you all agree, that this quote applies here?

Well you should anyway, because the "he" in this quote is Richard Clarke, and the person who made this statement is none other than the media darling of the hour, Scott McClellan himself in a press conference back on March 22, 2004.

Surely you have no problem with capitalism, and selling your product at the most opportune time to maximize profits? Free advertising from greedy media outlets. I am sure the book company thinks that way.

Vote like you want a secured border from terrorists, illegal aliens, drugs, and gun runners - because the right offerred you a few miles of wire fence.

I have no problem at all with the publishing company that printed the book... What I have a problem with, is the people (like McClellan) trying to make a buck with these "after the fact" tell all books.

Joe Wilson is a prime example of the bulls**t that these type of books represent. Wilson made all kinds of accusations against the Bush administration in his book, but when he was questioned about those claims when he testified before the senate intelligence committee, he said, and I quote, that those claims may have involved "a little literary flare".

These tell all books should be taken with a grain of salt at best.

If the Bush cub scouts in congress want to circle the wagons around Bush, then they need to get eviscerated just like Bush and Cheney and tossed out of government forever.

I think they are. The last political book I bought was "What went wrong with America." I don't buy into the sensationalism either, but it does clear up any questions that people have wondered about in his subject matter.

It seems there is something in the oath they take that prevents them from spilling the beans, National Security, etc. Of course, if what he prints is untrue, Bush has the right to sue him in court, bring forth witnesses, etc.

It won't happen... Once again, the Joe Wilson book is an example of the publishing of blatant lies (as testified to under oath by Wilson himself), and nothing has been done about that.

Hmm, there seems to be some disagreement as to "who" lied. Maybe Cheney would like to come to court and testify about who did what.

Here is a page that goes quote by qoute of what was said.

The So-called “Lies” of Joe Wilson : NO QUARTER
