That's just looking at the war. We can't have a president based only on that. Let's say that we did elect a president for only one thing and that was to pull us out of Iraq, what would happen (here, not in Iraq)? He'd pull us out and then what?

We have to look at their stance on just about every issue, we can't afford to have blinders that make us just look at one thing.

You need to come to terms with the fact that what you consider a smear thread is a legitiamte issue for many. Rather than sitting back and labeling something as smear, why don't you jump in feet first and give a valid arguement to support your poistion. And that doesn't mean bringing in Bush with every arguement. It means discussing the topic at hand, without diverting.

If, and it's a big if, Obama is elected that's exactly what will happen. People will make excuses for Obama's shortcomings and blame his failures on the previous administration. Add to that Obama's inexperience and you've got a real mess.

As for Congress, the Democrats have demonstrated that their controlling Congress has resulted in virtually nothing getting done.

Obama and a Democratic Congress are a recipe for stagnant government.

Yes I have. We need to prevent him or anyone else from failing. How do you do that?

Whoever is elected will have to surround themselves with experts, whether it is Obama, McCain, or Clinton. I gave a few examples of experts, but it means the entire cabinet and white house staff including advisors.

One of the reasons the Bush regime has been so bad is the fact that he put unqualified people into too many positions of power. His choices weren't based on who could do the best job but were based on who supported his wants no matter what.

For a government to work well it needs good people working for it and that means hiring people that are educated in the job they are going to do. Bush choose badly and McCain will be forced to keep many of them if he is elected.

One of the Big changes we need and will get when a Democrat wins is a change in who runs and works for the many executive departments that run this nation.

That is probably the best way for Obama to make sure that he doesn't choke when in the white house. Fill it with people that won't choke and that will help him do what he wants to do for the country. That might even mean giving a spot to Hillary Clinton (probably not the VP).

Most presidents break some campaign promises....Bush broke an unprecedented number of them.
Choke in office? Did George Bush "choke" in office? What are you, all of 20 yrs old....you probably didn't even vote in the last election. So, what the hell are you talking about. No one can take you seriously.

How many of you lost your guns when Bill Clinton took over in 1993? Cuz Drakej, there was a democratic controlled congress then too... so? How many of you lost your guns?

IF Obama should fail, then a republican will be elected in 2012... simple.
