The leader of the liberal democrats (the third party in Britain) looked quite old, though he wasn't as old as people made out, and despite being one of the best politicians in the house he was effectively hounded out because of his age, heck he wasn't a drunk, didn't have a thing for rent boys and never even got to lose an election before he was kicked out. It was a real shame.

My only concern if a president dies in office is, who is VP? Is he/she someone who has some common sense and isn't some flaming extremist? |

I don't think its prejudice.
Some jobs you can't do unless you can lift at least 50 pounds over your head. The presidency is a very high stress job and the president should be strong enough to do it. I happen to think McCain is a little to old to be able to handle the stress. |

Frank, people may think you are harsh, but one must admit that your facts are right on.

Age should not matter for the Presidency (except for the are you older than 35 in the Constitution). If his age makes a difference than there would be other effects, so don't vote for McCain for that reason. I know a 100 year old who would be fine as president. He still has energy in him and is a good person, but why should age matter? I don't like McCain because he and I don't see eye to eye, his age is the least of my concerns (unless his VP is worse than him, cause he may be President).
