No, it's not complicated for most. I never claimed that Obama would "pull the troops out immediately". If you read my post carefully you would not misquote me like this. This is Obama's paln, which is contrary to what his people are saying now:

Quote:
Bringing Our Troops Home
Obama will immediately begin to remove our troops from Iraq. He will remove one to two combat brigades each month, and have all of our combat brigades out of Iraq within 16 months. Obama will make it clear that we will not build any permanent bases in Iraq. He will keep some troops in Iraq to protect our embassy and diplomats; if al Qaeda attempts to build a base within Iraq, he will keep troops in Iraq or elsewhere in the region to carry out targeted strikes on al Qaeda.

60,000 troops in Iraq till 2010 is not what most Obama supporters signed up for. I've been saying this for a while now, and you have not believed that it could be possible. I hate to say that I told you so, but I told you so.

I would hire advisers who disagree with me, but maybe that's just me.

At any rate, if I were running for President I would make it clear that my policy goals will evolve to reflect reality.

The Swamp: Obama: Troops out of Iraq, by end of 2008

CLINTON, Iowa – Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama this afternoon called for an immediate start to the withdrawal of all U.S. combat forces from Iraq -- with a goal of full removal by the end of 2008 -- as he suggested the nation has lost its way because of the war.

"We're not going to be truly united and resolute as Americans until we can stop holding our breath, until we can come together to reclaim our foreign policy and our politics and end this war that has cost us too much," he said.

Obama's plan, outlined before an audience of about 500 at Ashford University, calls for the complete pullout of troops by the end of next year by bringing home one or two brigades each month.

"Let me be clear: There is no military solution in Iraq. There never was," he said. "'The best way to protect our security and to pressure Iraq's leaders to resolve their civil war is to immediately begin to remove our combat troops. Not in six months or one year – now."

Of course, Obama has changed his tune:

"...no one is asking for a precipitous with drawl."

As of yesterday.

And what year was the article published?

And all the candidates currently are talking about a phased withdrawal. The only difference is how that would happen and how long a period of time would be involved.

The article was posted September 12, 2007 @ 4:42 PM. Any changes since then that would warrant a change in Obama's policy?

Obama's current information on his site CONTRADICTS what his adviser is telling him. I feel that his advisers are providing the "lube" for what is to come next...Obama redefining his Iraq strategy.

Looks like Obama already knows that his followers will support him through ANY controversy, so why not change his promise while he has the blind support of his people?

And that's exactly what Obama has said in many debates and speeches. So the smear campaign doesn't work. If anyone thinks Obama is not intelligent enough to change policies to evolve with current events, they have their own issues and problems.

The only 'blind' ones are the ones who will smear him no matter what he says. You've made threads smearing him for wanting to go after the terrorists even though you seemingly agree. Your agenda is clear and transparent and very lame.

That appears to be at odds with Obama’s public position of removing all combat brigades from the country within 16 months of taking office.
Which way is it? 60,000 troops for two years or all combat troops out in 16 months? The guy is flip flopping. He and his advisers are confused because of their inexperience.

Besides being obviously confused Obama doesn't realize that a firm timetable for withdrawl isn't realistic. Patraeus has said so, his field commanders have said so.

This country can't afford Obama's "guessing game" foreign policy.

Obama gets the votes he needs, then he flip-flops. I have seen this typical behavior from a politician before.

How is addressing Obama's contradiction a smear? Seems that calling something smear is a sure way to avoid the issue.
