I have tried to put the connections together for many of you.
Video so have sound on: Democracy Now! | A 38 minute listen to if you have Adobe 8 or higher. David Cay Johnston on How the Rich Get Richer : NPR Wikimedia Error FACTS......... And if this isn't enough read this short piece. December 7, 2007 David Cay Johnston's New Book, Free Lunch David Cay Johnston's next book, Free Lunch: How the Wealthiest Americans Enrich Themselves at Government Expense (and StickYou with the Bill), will be released on December 27, 2007. Here is the publisher's description: How does a strong and growing economy lend itself to job uncertainty, debt, bankruptcy, and economic fear for a vast number of Americans? Free Lunch provides answers to this great economic mystery of our time, revealing how today’s government policies and spending reach deep into the wallets of the many for the benefit of the wealthy few. Johnston cuts through the official version of events and shows how, under the guise of deregulation, a whole new set of regulations quietly went into effect—regulations that thwart competition, depress wages, and reward misconduct. From how George W. Bush got rich off a tax increase to a $100 million taxpayer gift to Warren Buffett, Johnston puts a face on all of the dirty little tricks that business and government pull. A lot of people appear to be getting free lunches—but of course there’s no such thing as a free lunch, and someone (you, the taxpayer) is picking up the bill. Johnston’s many revelations include: TaxProf Blog: David Cay Johnston's New Book, Free Lunch How we ended up with the most expensive yet inefficient health-care system in the world How homeowners’ title insurance became a costly, deceitful, yet almost invisible oligopoly How our government gives hidden subsidies for posh golf courses How Paris Hilton’s grandfather schemed to retake the family fortune from a charity for poor children How the Yankees and Mets owners will collect more than $1.3 billion in public funds In these instances and many more, Free Lunch shows how the lobbyists and lawyers representing the most powerful 0.1% of Americans manipulated our government at the expense of the other 99.9%. With his extraordinary reporting, vivid stories, and sharp analysis, Johnston reveals the forces that shape our everyday economic lives—and shows us how we can finally make things better. Now if your interested and want to buy it at 1/3 of what I paid or just stop complaining about the govt., the rich and how you are paying more for anything, please! As I have tried for months to make each of you aware and but for a few not one has bothered to gain insight. NoI am sorry do continue a sit will mean I need not spend my time here as long or as offen. And I can attented to my life and stop worring about yours. I thought w ewere close but now I feel so far from each here. Your just debaters and posters, thats all. Amazon.com: David Cay Johnston: Books

I just would like in this so important election year to have people to know the truth. Why is it so much after we make a mistake to realize it? And we as a nation don't have that many more political mistakes to make.

2. My eyes are, for the most part, open, and have been for some time. The rich keep getting rich, with the military contractors first in line at the trough. (The little people? Fock'em--let them eat cake.) The media, from MSM to the lowest bloggers, are not helping, and their job is made much easier by a self-centered, intellectually lazy audience that places the importance of Britney's newest tattoo above their congressman's whoring with lobbyists. On your dime. 3. Hard headed? Not me. Cynical, yes, but hey, I ain't the one who was late to the prom. 4. POTUS election. There ain't no Silver Bullet, so put down the remote control. Our mastodon of government barely moves, and if a candidate, their supporters or even their detractors say radical change is on the way, they're pulling your leg to get your money/vote. The most you can hope for is a slight course correction, and one or two Supreme Court appointments. This isn't the drive-up window at Burger King. Unless, of course, America wants to throw them all out of Washington and start anew, but that sounds like a lot of work that may cause us to miss "Dancing With The Stars". You can take this any way you want--enjoy your moment of Zen.

And with the help of the politicians, it's even easier to get the masses to ignore what is right under their noses. Now, they can blame the liberals/conservatives for all the ills in the world and realize none of it is their fault. And if the whole thing comes crashing down, they'll STILL blame the "other" side anyway. That truth has been there for a long time. So have idiot sheep. Bad combination. Good OP though.
