Ron Paul Back Campaign | Topeka Ron Paul "Scaling" Back Campaign Submitted by politicalWinters on Mon, 02/11/2008 - 9:53am. It seems Ron Paul is drastically scaling back his presidential campaign. The reason, he wants to make sure he gets re-elected to his congressional seat first. He's posted a letter to supporters on his web site. Here's part of the letter: But with so many primaries and caucuses now over, we do not now need so big a national campaign staff, and so I am making it leaner and tighter. Of course, I am committed to fighting for our ideas within the Republican party, so there will be no third party run. I do not denigrate third parties -- just the opposite, and I have long worked to remove the ballot-access restrictions on them. But I am a Republican, and I will remain a Republican.

He is fighting off the Neo Cons in 14th Congressional district of Texas. The people running against him broke their promise of not competing for the seat, while Ron Paul was running for President.
He's not really out of the Presidential Race. He is campaigning all over Texas for the March 4th Primary (Caucus). He will be in Ohio the last week of Feb or early March. The Libertarian Party is holding their National Convention and Ron Paul might get picked. So He still might be on the ballot come November. There are alot of things at play right now.
