I have to admit that I voted for him too. I felt that he was better than the alternative. I really dislike Al Gore. I feel very similar about John Kerry that I do about McCain. Plus Bush didn't really stink up the White House badly until his second term. I felt that the consistency would help in the war as well. I was mistaken. But either way he was still probably better than Gore or Kerry.
The problem is that my experience with Bush has shown me that voting for the lesser of two evils is still evil. I will not vote for McCain. It might mean that we will get a President Clinton, but that is preferable to the continued slide toward no choice at all. I view the positions of Hillary and McCain to be nearly identical. Only Obama is a clear choice even farther to the left that I cannot take.
