Default Americans are crazy or just stupid?

For the past 200 years twisters have been ripping up tornado alley and killing handfuls of these ignorant crazy Americans, and yet they stay waiting on their own turn to be buried in the ground. No one is dumb enough to insure them for tornado damage, so each year they cry for government help to rebuild in the same area next tornados will come ripping through and destroying everything again. These people must be crazy. They should be charged with child abuse for raising their children in that daily danger. It is some kind of sickness these people have thinking they can overcome the destructive force of nature, year after year, and losing the battle year after year. It reminds me of those ignorant and crazy Florida people who get wiped out every year and expect government to rebuild their sea side homes.

And then we got a President ignorant enough to be telling them prayers to God will help them! Well God hasn't answered their prayers in the last 200 years, you stupid SOB, so why do think he changed his mind this time?

==========
A funnel cloud touches down in Atkins, Ark., Tuesday. It was part of a large tornado system that pummeled the South, killing at least 54 people and injuring scores more.

But others simply had nowhere safe to go, or the storms proved too powerful, too numerous, too unpredictable.

At least 54 people were killed and hundreds injured Tuesday and Wednesday by dozens of tornadoes that plowed across Mississippi, Arkansas, Tennessee, Kentucky and Alabama. It was the nation's deadliest barrage of twisters in almost 23 years.

"We had a beautiful neighborhood. Now it's hell," said Bonnie Brawner, 80, who lives in Hartsville, a community about an hour from Nashville where a natural gas plant that was struck by a twister erupted in spectacular flames up to 400 feet high.

The storms flattened entire streets, smashed warehouses and sent tractor-trailers flying. Houses were reduced to splintered piles of lumber. Some looked like life-size dollhouses, their walls sheared away. Crews going door-to-door to search for bodies had to contend with downed power lines, snapped trees and flipped-over cars. Cattle wandered through the debris near hard-hit Lafayette (pronounced luh-FAY-et). At least 12 people died in and around the town.

"It looks like the Lord took a Brillo pad and scrubbed the ground," said Tennessee Gov. Phil Bredesen, who surveyed the damage from a helicopter.

Hundreds of houses were damaged or destroyed. Authorities had no immediate cost estimate of the damage.

President Bush gave assurances his administration stood ready to help. Teams from the Federal Emergency Management Agency were sent to the region and activated an emergency center in Georgia.

"Loss of life, loss of property — prayers can help and so can the government," Bush said. "I do want the people in those states to know the American people are standing with them."

Hundreds of people die in car crashes every day, but I suspect that you still get in a car from time to time.

The same can be said for hurricanes and earthquakes. If no one were to live in areas that receive tornadoes, hurricanes, earthquakes, or volcanoes on a regular basis, you know what would be left of the United States?

Utah.

If anyone followed your line of thought concerning tornados, then the house I was raised in would never had been built. It replaced a home that had been destroyed by a tornado in 1949. The replacement home is still standing today about a mile from where I currently live.

You live in the Bahamas? You're preaching about tornados? Never had any tropical storms or hurricanes there?

It has nothing to do with staying in a tornado infested area to die. Just stick to the subject, and forget all your examples that mean nothing.

I understand what you are saying, and we need to be in some of these areas due to resources. But wouldn't you think these people who have to be there would build an underground reinforced concrete bunker homes. You know, more in line with taking a direct hit from a tornado?

When people face the uncertainty of a foreign power delivering a nuclear bomb, they build a bomb shelter. But these tornado people buy mobile homes and tinder wood houses, don't plan to leave the dangerous area and play the gambling game of when they will die. I think a lil common sense is in order. Soem changes need to be made.
