[quote=Phædrus;34328]You might note the sarcasm. And have you ever tasted French cheese? Have you ever
smelled it? Urgh. I admit that not all French cheese is smelly, but the vast majority of it is, and they consider the smellier ones to be better. I'll stick with Danish Havarti, please. [/irrelevant]
I like havarti as well. One grows acustomed to his environment, but not the cheese, huh?

You think we aren't already doing that? But sometimes you just need people on the ground with guns to do a job. In fact, most of the time you need people on the ground. Listening devices, cameras, and satellites can tell you where the "bad guys" are, but they won't kill them, and artillery is just about useless in urban warfare. Something about collateral damage or such.
|
I think it is a good way to go, saves American lives. Maybe the collateral damage climbs on up there, the Iraqies will get interested in defending themselves. Artillery can do a good job, as can helis & jets. And no, I don't care about the costs, I care about results. And arty can be as precise as you need it to be. I would rather see the use of remote guided bombs strapped to small craft, but whatever works.

So unless you want to use a JDAM to take out every single enemy,

I think you could build some small remote controlled craft loaded with and handful of C4 & a cam for around hundred.

you've got to use troops, and I'd like to point out that JDAMs cost a million bucks a shot. But you don't care about that, since you're such a Hillary fanatic.

What being a Hillary fanatic has to do with saving US Troops lives is beyond me, but I will take credit for that and see it as a compliment. The only ground troops you need can be placed in a bunker in the green zone and guiding their surveillance and extinction of the enemy from there.
