Default What the hell?

What is up with everyone speaking out against "choosing between the least of two evils?"

Every choice you make between candidates is a choice between the least of two evils. You can try and try and try for years and you will never find a candidate who agrees exactly with you on everything. No candidate is perfect. It's like multiple choice, you choose the best answer. More than one answer may be right, maybe none of the answers are totally right.

Anyone agree with me?

I agree 100% That is why people need to spend time on local officials as well as the President. Our government is a huge puzzle but most people only want to focus on the middle piece.

I agree with you, you can look it as the lesser of two evils or the best of the good. Depending on your view on things. I tend towards less of the evils myself.

First of all, there are more choices than merely the Democrats and Republicans - other parties become viable as people VOTE for them. Of course, too many of you sheeple believe the lies the media, the Democrats and the Republicans tell you that you must treat the election like a horse race and vote for the one that has the best chance of winning or vote for the least distasteful between Democrat and Republican. Second, just because you don't agree with every position a candidate has doesn't make the candidate evil.

"I'm a panda," he says at the door. "Look it up."

The waiter turns to the relevant entry and, sure enough, finds an explanation.

"Panda. Large black-and-white bear-like mammal, native to China. Eats, shoots and leaves."

Really. Well, that's a nice pipe dream, but the reality of the situ is that the Dems and the Repubs happen to be the only viable parties. Let's not forget that it was "sheeple" who allowed George Bush to "steal" the election in 2000 ( Florida) and 2004 ( Ohio).
Face facts...Ron Paul did outstanding in raising money and redirecting the rhetoric on the Republican side...but, clearly, he doesn't stand a chance of being nominated against McCain or Romney.

On the Dem side, either Hillary or Obama would present not only change by the mere fact that they are who they are, but given the mood and mindset of the country, it's almost a sure bet that one of them will be the next president.

The lessor of two evils is a strategy built by the "Base" of each party, it is a result of the population as a whole being unedjucated when it comes to politics and wanting to vote for a "Winner" the whole concept is ridiculous.

Regardless of whether a Republican or a Democrat is elected, there will be no real change in Washington.

You are right that no candidate will be perfect, but the choices we are given usually are terrible. Remember the last presidential election when the choices were Bush (rich white man, member of Skull & Bones, looking out for his cronies and corporations) and Kerry (rich white man, member of Skull & Bones, looking out for his cronies and corporations)? As far as I'm concerned, both were basically the same.

This time we have one good candidate in the race so I don't see him as the lesser of two evils. I agree with everything he says except for his stance on abortion. I've never seen a candidate before whom I could say that about who wasn't a registered Libertarian. 8)

In politics time means everything, and Bush has had 8 years to screw up America, and destroy the prior Clinton years of hard work. It will be like starting from ground zero again and working towards building a new Democrat America. I want people with a track record, and not someone living in dreams who isn't prepared for the leadership role. I wouldn't mind Obama as the Vice President over the Senate, but he is lacking in a Presidential role.
