Our history books say poor little Israel was surrounded on all sides and attacked by the Arabs leading to the 6 day war.
The stark reality is that the vast majority of border incidents leading to the war were deliberate Israeli provocations to give them an excuse to go on a land grab, and that's exactly what ensued.
