Thanks for the answer to that. Never heard of it. Sounds like "kick the can" only softer. LOL.
I hope you keep that feeling of wanting to stand up for the underdog, the weaker or those disenfranchised. I'm glad you told the bully to shut up. But what other people said is true, too, specially whoever said that if you were a bit older you could well be going to jail.
A little local story. Last year there was a party. Parents were gone and kids had a party one spring night ..mostly classmates from the same school. Some guys from another school showed up. There were slurs thrown back and forth, probabaly underage drinking going on. Started out just throwing insults back and forth...later there were several versions of who started it. All pretty much upper middle class kids, I think. Probably all college bound, all white, (so not a racial thing), All rural, so not a "street thang" or gang thing.
Oldest was 18 I think..youngest was around 15 I think...doesn't matter too much, all high school students with their whole lives ahead of them. Somebody threw an insult. Then somebody threw a punch, then somebody threw a rock. Then somebody picked up a baseball bat, then somebody picked up a two by four.
Final tally. Two dead, one brain damaged debilitating injury, three young men charged with murder and first degree assault. No winners. Six young lives ruined. Not to mention those of their families, friends and loved ones.
So that is why I couldn't give you a pat on the back for the punch.
But for standing up for someone being abused, again...kudos for that. Just need to have a bit more self control when it comes to the physical stuff.
