Well, it may certainly be stupid but merely putting some words on a license plate isn't necessarily an endorsement of religion. I strongly suggest you look into what has been called "ceremonial deism" before you continue to make a fool of yourself with such damned idiotic remarks.

"I believe" could refer to anything: "I believe" in God or Buddah or Vishnu or Confucius or Einstein or Darwin or government...or "I believe" I'll have another beer.

Oh, and by the way, the first amendment only prohibits Congress from passing legislation that establishes a religion or infringes on the free exercise of religion. It does not apply to anyone else and the 14th amendment does not take the first amendment and expand its application to state and local governments. And before you make some damned idiotic remark about how "the Supreme Court said..." Article III doesn't give the Supreme Court the authority to assign its own meaning to the Constitution and Supreme Court decisions can easily be overturned by subsequent decisions (as has happened in the past).

The disappointing thing about this proposed license plate is that state won't be keeping the money for itself. States are always complaining about needing more revenue, here's a good way to add to the state coffers.

People should be allowed to have whatever they want on their license plate as long as it is the right amount of letters and numbers and the people themselves are willing to pay extra to have it done.

A panda walks into a cafe. He orders a sandwich, eats it, then draws a gun and fires two shots in the air.

"Why?" asks the confused waiter, as the panda makes toward the exit. The panda produces a badly punctuated wildlife manual and tosses it over his shoulder.

"I'm a panda," he says at the door. "Look it up."

The waiter turns to the relevant entry and, sure enough, finds an explanation.

"Panda. Large black-and-white bear-like mammal, native to China. Eats, shoots and leaves."
