STein made a movie that will appeal to Christians at first glance because it's satisfying to have explanstions offered which are easier to fall back on than what they have. It's painful for Christians to not have answers to the questions which are posed on their beliefs. For them this is just in time because it tries to go head to head with science on science's ground.
But the wiser Christians will read up on ID and do some research and if they are astute in the least they will realize that they want to distance themselves quickly and as far away as possible from ID. This ID idea and all that it tries to push across are the worst thing that can happen to Christianity at this crossroad where intelligent people are making a choice on religion, to accept it or not.
On the positive side and from an atheist POV, it's a huge asset to atheists who are intent on working on destroying superstitious religious beliefs in the interest of elevating civilization to higher levels. For this reason we need to encourage the Christians to debate the ID issue because the big let down they receive when they realize they have been duped may just snap some of them to their senses eventually.
HOw dare these Christians numbskulls think that they can go toe to toe with science on science's ground. They will quickly learn that religion needs to be kept isolated from science and the real world. THey can do what they like and believe what they like in their own churches but they better keep it in their churches and in the privacy of their own homes if they don't want to be pounced upon and embarrassed.
