They are only two examples, I can give you many more if you want. Jesus promoted castration in order to get into heaven. These things are not just in the old testament, to be forgotten, Jesus said ""It is easier for Heaven and Earth to pass away than for the smallest part of the letter of the law to become invalid."
As for the Qu'ran, well it says that charity should be given (the poor-rate) to help the unfortunate. Note that the Qu'ran also says, "He who walks with peace walks with Him". It is ultimately a book of peace, with faults as you have highlighted, but no more than christianity.
