First of all, not all of those you would label 'liberal' are against the death penalty. Second, did you see the reasoning? If a rapist knows he will be put to death if caught, it increases the chance that he will rape and then murder the child. So in your mind, you feel it is better to kill them all, knowing that anyone in the future will kill the child after raping them because that decreases the likelihood that they will be caught?

I am for the death penalty, but I understand the viewpoint and it makes sense.
