Yes, that market-driven argument may work in a densely populated area, but what about those rural areas where people have to drive miles to shop? There may not be a large enough population in the region to support another business so there may not BE any other place for a woman to get her prescription needs filled.
There is more to this equation than simple market competition. It is about a licensed professional refusing to do his job in order to manipulate another's behavior, and to deliberately create hardship for one gender.
