I think it puts WAY too much burden on the business owners. Considering these illegals go by about 40 different names, and documentation is so easy to fake, I would need to see way more specifics on how this would work.
I'd hate to see small businesses destroyed because of some glitch. How does the system guarantee that this Roberto Alvarez Gonzalez really isn't that Roberto Alvarez Gonzalez? Are we still dealing with paper documents? How does this work, given all the aliases? Is this via phone? Computer? What if a business, like a gardening service, doesn't have one? Do we tattoo people and scan them? How much will that cost?
Lots and lots of questions, here.
In the frothing frenzy to punish people, let's not sell our souls to the latest "magic bullet". I still don't like jeopardizing businesses with the burdens of proof.
