It helped the coup against Chavez, funding the plotters. Watch "The War on Democracy" by John Pilger, it's on google videos. If you don't watch all of it start at about 30 minutes. I know Pilger is a biased source but his facts are facts and he provides documents for evidence and the words of an American (CNN I think) reporter who was told of the conspiracy before it ever happened.
