It won't hurt them. It's not as if they are going to take the loss anyway. Even if they are rolling in cash.

But the problem is a lot deeper. We should have been preparing for the energy crisis for far, far longer than we are by ditching this suburban waste culture of driving everywhere, creating better public transportation infrastructure, investing more in nuclear power, etc.

We do have Peak Oil on the horizon, so it's going to get a lot worse.
