FORT RILEY — Another group of Fort Riley soldiers is coming home from 15 months in Iraq.
The latest to return are approximately 55 soldiers from the 977th Military Police Company, due back today. During their deployment, the unit logged more than 3,700 combat patrols, drove more than 676,000 miles and conducted 28 humanitarian assistance missions.
Eleven soldiers from the unit were injured during the deployment. Two were killed.
There still are some 3,550 Fort Riley soldiers deployed to either Afghanistan or Iraq.
