Most Scientific and statistical data actually supports the idea that it is genetic.

They haven't found a simple set of markers to prove it but then sexuality isn't a simple system and simple answers don't work. that includes the idea that you can cure someone of it.

People can be taught to suppress their desires but that doesn't mean you have cured them of those desires.

Homosexuality has been found all over the natural world from dolphins to monkeys.
All the suppressed fear of homosexuals will not change the fact that it is not a disease.
